Our annual Fun-Raiser sponsored by the Mount Tabor Baseball Family raises money for our Field of Dreams project. Jeff and Susan MacIntosh graciously host us in their wonderful home for an evening that includes great food, drinks and a raffle and silent auction with all proceeds going to our Carl R Sapp field improvements. Silent Auction items this year included: US Open golf tickets; a fully catered BBQ pig roast; a customized home awning; an IPOD; a full mounted taxidery; Dash Tickets; MT Baseball gear. Its also the night where families and friends plege their annual support for the on-going field improvement projects. As a Family, we have nearly raised all the funds needed to pay off Phase III of our project, with a total spend nearing $85,000 over the past year! Phase IV is in development already: A new scoreboard! Thanks to all the parents and friends who donated items to our wonderful event this year.
We Are Family
The Mount Tabor Baseball Family (MTBF) is one of the most unique aspects of the Mount Tabor baseball program. Simply said, The Family supports the young men on the field, the school they represent and importantly, helps instill in each player, the values of teamwork, sportsmanship and comradre on and off the field. The MTBF is not just families who have boys on the team. Our family tree branches out to alumni players and families, teachers, neighbors, middle schoolers and friends of the program. The Family atmosphere is the heart and soul of our program's drive and success...for the boys on the field today and those that will wear the blue and gold in years to come. A key part of being part of the family is participation. From concessions to clean up; preparing post-game meals to announcing the games; from keeping score to fund-raising. A perfect example of participation was this winter when 35 members of The Family came out for "Field Day" where we prepared the complex around Sapp Field for play this season. Most of the improvements to our complex besides construction, like laying sod, building bleachers, hanging wind-screens, moving dirt, building the dugout interiors, were done on weekends and late nights by MTBF dads. We have fun, we enjoy being together, we give 110%. We are Family.
