Renovations are 95% complete at Carl R. Sapp Field. With the infield and outfield playing surfaces one of the best in the state, it was time to make improvements "outside the base lines." Both dugouts were built in 1965 and in serious need of updating. So Phase 1 of our "Field of Dreams" project was the new first base dugout, completed in spring 2010. The third base dugout, complete with a spacious storage facility, was completed for the 2011 season. The beautiful new brick backstop has been constructed and a new net/pole backstop installed. The fan experience has also been enhanced with new bleachers that are closer to they field, a new sound system and on-site concessions. The next phase of improvements includes more seating, a storage facility and a new scoreboard. Anyone interested in sponsoring our scoreboard please contact Tim Ronan at the number below.
Carl R. Sapp Field is an effort 100% supported by The Mount Tabor Baseball Family. No school, city, county or taxpayer funds have been used for what will be a $100,000 renovation. This wonderful experience for our team and families could not be possible without the kind and passionate support of Ms. Carol Sapp. Her dedication and love for our team and school is truly remarkable and greatly appricicated. Many families have also contributed to this effort, both with funds and their time but we are still short in our fund-raising needs. For more information on how you can support Mt Tabor baseball, contact Tim Ronan at [email protected] or 336-813-3062.
